Terms of Service
Last updated: July 23, 2026
1. General provisions
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") define the rules of using the Quizzy service available at quizzyplace.pl (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Anton Merkulau, a private individual acting on a non-commercial basis (the "Provider"), contact: support@quizzyplace.pl.
The Service is provided free of charge. The Terms constitute the regulations referred to in Article 8 of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
These Terms are available in five languages. In case of any discrepancy between language versions, the Polish version prevails.
2. Definitions
- Service — the Quizzy website and its functionality.
- User — any person using the Service, with or without an account.
- Account — an individual profile created by a User in the Service.
- Team — a group of Users created in the Service to take part in Quizzes together.
- Organizer — an entity or person that publishes and runs Quizzes through the Service.
- Quiz — a quiz event announced in the Service, organized and run by an Organizer.
- Registration — a Team's sign-up for a specific Quiz submitted through the Service.
3. Scope of services
Through the Service, Users can in particular:
- browse and search Quizzes published by Organizers;
- create an Account using an email address and password or a Telegram account;
- create Teams, invite and manage Team members;
- register a Team for a Quiz and manage the Registration;
- view Organizer pages and subscribe to Organizers;
- receive notifications about Quizzes and Team events and add Quizzes to a calendar;
- rate attended Quizzes and leave comments addressed to the Organizer;
- view public seasonal and all-time Team leaderboards and achievements.
Organizers can additionally publish and edit Quiz listings, manage Registrations, and upload Quiz results.
4. Technical requirements
Using the Service requires a device with internet access and a modern web browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled. Creating an Account requires a valid email address or an active Telegram account.
5. Account rules
- An Account may be created by a person who is at least 16 years old.
- The data provided when creating and using an Account must be accurate.
- One person may hold one Account and must keep the login credentials confidential.
- The agreement for providing the Account service is concluded when the Account is created and may be terminated by the User at any time by deleting the Account (in profile settings or by writing to support@quizzyplace.pl).
6. Role of Quizzy and of Organizers
Quizzy is an intermediary platform: it publishes Quiz listings and handles Registrations, but Quizzes are organized and run solely by their Organizers. In particular:
- the Organizer is solely responsible for the correctness of the Quiz information (date, time, venue, price, number of places) and for actually holding the Quiz;
- any cancellation, rescheduling and any refunds of entry fees are handled exclusively by the Organizer; the Provider does not collect or process any payments;
- submitting a Registration books a place for the Team subject to available places; the Organizer may refuse or cancel a Registration, in particular for capacity reasons or a breach of the Organizer's own rules;
- before the event the Team may be asked to confirm its attendance; the confirmation is the Team's own declaration and does not constitute an approval by the Organizer;
- any contract concerning participation in a Quiz is concluded directly between the User (Team) and the Organizer.
7. User content
Users and Organizers may publish content in the Service (including Team names and images, Quiz descriptions and images, ratings and comments). By publishing content, the User grants the Provider a free, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content within the Service to the extent needed to provide the Service, and declares that they hold the necessary rights to it.
It is prohibited to post content that:
- is unlawful or infringes third-party rights, including intellectual property rights;
- is hateful, discriminatory, threatening or harassing;
- constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising or a scam;
- contains malware or attempts to disrupt the operation of the Service;
- impersonates another person or entity in a misleading way.
8. Moderation
The Provider may hide or remove content that violates the law or these Terms and may warn, or — in serious or repeated cases — temporarily or permanently block an Account. The affected User is informed of the decision and its reasons and may object by writing to support@quizzyplace.pl. Anyone can report potentially illegal content via the report illegal content page.
9. Quiz results and ratings
Quiz results are uploaded by Organizers. An Organizer may correct an erroneous result within 7 days of uploading it; team statistics and ratings are then recalculated. The rating rules are described in the appendix below.
10. Complaints
Complaints about the operation of the Service may be submitted to support@quizzyplace.pl. Complaints are handled within 14 days of receipt; the response is sent to the address the complaint was submitted from.
11. Changes to the Terms
The Provider may amend these Terms for important reasons (legal changes, new or changed functionality, security). Users will be informed about material changes through the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. A User who does not accept the changes may delete their Account.
12. Final provisions
These Terms are governed by Polish law. Mandatory consumer protection rights remain unaffected. If any provision of the Terms turns out to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force. These Terms are effective as of 23 July 2026.
Appendix — rating rules
- A Team earns points for a Quiz according to the formula
10 + 90 × (B + 0.5 × T) / (N − 1), whereNis the number of ranked Teams in the Quiz,B— the number of Teams beaten, andT— the number of Teams tied with. - A Quiz counts towards the rating when at least 5 Teams are ranked in its results.
- Ratings are computed per season (January–June and July–December); only the Team's first 12 eligible Quizzes in a season are scored.
- The all-time rating is the sum of the Team's season scores.
- A Team appears on a leaderboard once it has at least 3 scored Quizzes in a given scope.
- The Service additionally maintains an internal estimate of Team strength that is never displayed and is used solely for internal purposes (e.g. balancing).
- When an Organizer corrects a result within the 7-day window, all affected statistics and ratings are recalculated.
